NEW Census data released today has revealed the fastest-growing careers in Australia. According to the latest figures from the 2016 survey released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics shows that Community and personal service workers come out on top
When it comes to the top eight occupations in Australia, these workers recorded the largest growth of 19 per cent in the five years since the 2011 Census of Population and Housing now there are 1.1 millions workers in this group and jobs also assisting health professionals in patient care, child care , aged care as well as education support occupations.
The rise in this group was also reflected across the Social Assistance industry and Health Care, which showed the largest growth over the past five years. Overall more than 80 percent of Australian workers were employed in the services industry including health care, education and retail. This is up slightly from 78 percent in 2011.
Other jobs that showed growth were in SERVICE SECTOR
Census program manager Bindi Kindermann said. “There was a 23 per cent increase in bar attendants and baristas, 25 per cent rise in the number of beauty therapists, 27 per cent increase in fitness instructors
The jobs with the highest percentage growth were domestic cleaners , sales support workers, enrolled and mothercraft nurses , , early childhood teachers as well as ICT support and test engineers
Careers on the decline include administrative & clerical workers, which decreased by 2.3 percent. However, it is still the second most popular occupation in Australia.
The largest overall occupation category was PROFESSIONALS that included the areas such as Business & Engineering, Arts & Science which accounted upto which accounted upto 21 percent of the Nations Workforce
